Kjartan Mar Kjartansson has suffered an injury that has put his Aberdeen debut on hold. ‌

Record Sport understands that the Icelandic international was going to be in Jimmy Thelin 's squad for the weekend cup clash with Motherwell and was also likely to get game time. ‌

Nobody has nailed down one of the two central midfield spots in the Aberdeen team and Kjartansson was set to be given his chance to stake a claim before injury. ‌

The midfielder, however, had to drop out when he suffered an injury in training on Friday.

The 19-year-old has a thigh injury that is set to keep him sidelined for the next couple of weeks, which means he will miss the league games with Motherwell and Dundee.

It is a blow for Kjartansson and Thelin as the teenager had been making
