The long-standing dispute over whether eggs should be stored in the fridge or on the counter for maximum freshness has finally been settled, thanks to culinary expert Mary Berry .
The optimal egg storage method has been a point of contention between Brits and Americans for years. In the UK, it's standard practice to store eggs at room temperature on the kitchen counter.
However, our American counterparts prefer a chillier setting. In ' Mary Berry's Complete Cookbook ,' the baking guru has put an end to the argument - seemingly siding with the American approach.
Mary suggested: "Store eggs in their box in the refrigerator (away from strong foods so that they do not absorb flavours and odours through their shells)."
