Right-wing influencer Laura Loomer claimed Tuesday that she did a background check and found "proof" that the suspected shooter involved in the Dallas ICE facility shooting was evidence of "Leftist political violence."
In her post on X Wednesday morning, Loomer shared screenshots from a background search on suspect Joshua Jahn. Jahn has not been identified yet as an official suspect, however sources familiar with the investigation are investigating him, according to Fox News.
"I did a background check on Joshua Jahn, the ICE shooter in Dallas, Texas. Joshua Jahn's profile picture from his now-wiped Facebook page per the background check results reveals ANTIFA and communist imagery. The profile photo is of an armed communist with the hammer and sickle. The text reads GLORIOUS EXPOSITION, COMRADE. He also has a previous conviction for selling Marijuana. Proof this was Leftist political violence against ICE officers. @ICEgov @DHSgov @TriciaOhio."
Three detainees were shot and two are dead, another is in critical condition, according to the Department of Homeland Security. No members of law enforcement were injured. The shooter was reportedly found dead with a self-inflicted gun wound.
"This morning, a deranged gunman attacked a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Dallas field office from a nearby rooftop. The shooter fired indiscriminately at the ICE building, as well as at a van in the sallyport where the victims were shot," DHS wrote via X.
DHS has pointed to the media and lawmakers for what they call an increase in attacks on ICE agents. They asked for people to "join us in praying for the victims and their families" and said that President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem "stand with the men and women of ICE."
"We can confirm, the shell casings were found with anti-ICE messages on them. This was an attack on ICE law enforcement.
This horrific attack occurred amidst the 1000% increase in assaults against @ICEgov. Politicians and media pundits must stop the vile lies and smears designed to demonize and dehumanize ICE law enforcement. This shooting must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences."
The DHS has released a series of press releases over the last several days criticizing "sanctuary politicians" and "rioters," saying specifically that California Gov. Gavin Newsom's push to unmask ICE agents "demonizes law enforcement." Newsom has pressured the Trump administration to stop raids and passed a new law forbidding ICE from making arrests at courthouses, CalMatters reports.
