BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — A repeat DWI driver is asking the judge to lighten her sentence after already receiving a plea deal. Jennifer Whitey pled guilty to her 4th DWI in two years.
As part of her plea agreement, she's required to participate with the DWI court and complete the community custody program before serving a mandatory six months in jail. The program is considered as serving jail time by the DA's office. At sentencing on Wednesday, she requested to be taken off of the program after three months.
