NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - A collision in a construction zone in Northeast Nebraska remains under investigation on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The two-vehicle crash took place near the 1600 block of West Eisenhower Ave. outside of Norfolk, Nebraska, according to a press release by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the initial investigation of the collision determined a SUV, driven by 64-year-old Julie Sauser of Plainview, Nebraska, stopped in a marked construction zone, which was reduced to one lane.

The sheriff’s office says behind the SUV, a single rear-axle box truck driven by 23-year-old Jayden Grove of Sioux City, failed to brake and struck the rear of the SUV. The collision caused damage to both the box truck and the SUV, which Sauser was in alone.
