PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Two men were arrested and charged with misdemeanor offenses following a demonstration outside the Federal Building in Eugene on Tuesday night.

At an event billed as "Portland in Solidarity with Eugene," protesters gathered Tuesday afternoon in front of the Federal Building at 211 East 7th Ave., which houses an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office.

According to a statement from the Eugene Police Department, officers responded to a report of an altercation nearby at East 6th Avenue and High Street around 4:30 p.m., but the individuals had left. One was later located several blocks away.
