SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The reported threat that alerted Drury University's campus almost two weeks ago turned out to be unfounded, according to the university.

“After investigating an incident at Drury University almost two weeks ago, Drury Security, in conjunction with Springfield Police Department, concluded any potential threat was unfounded," said Drury communications director Cris Belvin

Belvin said the university will continue to be vigilant with campus safety and security.

On Sept. 11, the university sent a statement to notify students of a reported threat on campus.

The threat was said to have involved a hand-drawn target found on an exterior door of the Hammons School of Architecture (HSA) and a student’s report of seeing a red dot in the same area.
