TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida lawmakers are now back in their home districts again as they continue to slowly move towards property tax proposals to take up next session, and while they are still in the data gathering stage, Florida Tax Watch now has some ideas of their own. Florida Tax Watch, known as the eyes and ears for taxpayers across the state, has been tracking the property tax debate for quite some time. Dominic Calabro, president and CEO of Florida Tax Watch, commented on the topic shortly after the legislative session ended.
"Rather than just have something done quickly one and done, let's think it through." Calabro said. "Let's make sure this is something that can last for at least 10 years, because you don't amend the Constitution readily."
