The Twinsburg City Schools plans an increased police presence for events surrounding the Sept. 26 football game against Hudson after a custodian found a handgun at the stadium field house.

The custodian who was cleaning the girls restroom found the gun in a sanitary dispenser, according to a Sept. 24 email to parents from Interim Superintendent Steve Marlow.

The custodian notified his supervisor and the Twinsburg Police Department. Police removed the handgun and are continuing to investigate, Marlow said.

Police and Marlow could not be reached for further comment Sept. 24.

It's believed that the handgun was left on Sept. 20 sometime between the morning junior varsity football game and at the end of that day's youth football games.
