LEBANON, Mo -- The Lebanon City Council voted 6–2 this week to approve a contract to purchase the Lebanon Area Community Golf Course from the nonprofit that currently owns it.

It's a move city leaders say will preserve a heavily used recreational asset and expand amenities for non-golfers.

The Lebanon Area Community Golf Course, a 501(c)(7) nonprofit formed in early 2025, bought the course Aug. 27 from Lebanon Area Community Golf and Country Club, LLC/Great Life Golf & Fitness in an effort to keep the facility sustainable. The golf course is just outside of Lebanon's city limits on Highway 64, about six miles northeast of town. It sits on approximately 153 acres.

The purchase price for the property is $735,000.
