The Trump administration announced this month that it was ending funding for most minority-serving institutions and diverting the funding to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and tribal universities.

In a state without HBCUs or tribal universities, the announcement sent shock waves across Massachusetts institutions, especially those with programs that support Hispanic students.
