London police on Wednesday sought the public’s help finding a man who they allege tried to lure two children with the promise of toys in the city’s east end.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Empire Street, a residential area near the Oxford Street East intersection.

A woman supervising two young children reported seeing an unknown man approach and speak with the kids for about 10 minutes before they went back to their homes, police said, adding the man then left the area.

The children later told their parents the man had invited them to go with him in exchange for a toy, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police said they were contacted on Sept. 20 and an investigation had been launched.
