NEW BEDFORD – The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center came to non-profit New Bedford Research and Robotics to announce over $11 million in funding for seven organizations promoting ocean technology.

And the second largest award at $2,130,040 went to the non-profit New Bedford Ocean Cluster .

That money will go toward renovating 4,000 square feet at its Purchase Street site for industry events, supporting maritime business “incubator” operations, and providing new equipment at New Bedford Research and Robotics to accelerate ocean tech startup development, according to a press release.

New Bedford Research and Robotics is currently renovating its Purchase Street site. Founder and Executive Director Mark Parsons led a tour of the building following the awards presentation.
