PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss — A traveling from New Orleans struck their vehicle at a railroad crossing in Pass Christian.
The deadly crash happened at the Davis Avenue railroad crossing just blocks from historic downtown Pass Christian. Neighbor Vince Scott was in his front yard around 7 p.m. Tuesday when he heard the collision as the train was approaching.
"I heard the train whistle, and the lights go off, and the eastbound Amtrak struck something. It didn't sound like a car crash; however it was quite serious," Scott said.
Scott went to investigate the scene.
"The train was coming eastbound. It struck the car clearly and then the car hit the steel poles that are the lights for the crossing and the car was bent around that," Scott said.
