The Reno City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday, Sept. 24 to push off the offer letter showing interest in the Lear Theater, and instead hold a bigger discussion on next steps at the Historic Resources Commission's next meeting.

The item was brought to the table after local photographer Gina Hasler sent the council a letter showing interest in buying the theater.

“Our intent is to restore this iconic building, ensuring its historical integrity is maintained while transforming it into a vibrant hub for the arts that honors its past and inspires its future,” the letter said.

“I don’t know whether there is enough bandwidth, time or money available within the local government to make sure that is accomplished,” Hasler said in the meeting.
