SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield City Council approved a few different revisions to a future neighborhood development being put in off S. Battlefield Road.
City Council originally approved a preliminary plat that would create a new neighborhood right behind Chimney Hills Place near Galloway — called Chimney Rock.
Instead of 40 lots going into 8.69 acres, now there will only be 29. Also, the developer got rid of the entrance on Arcadia, which ends in a cul de sac.
Sonja Shaw, who lives nearby in Chimney Hills Place, says these improvements are big wins for the existing neighborhood.
“We still do have some concerns,” Shaw said. “One of them is the intersection or the entrance to this subdivision on Carson Avenue. That's a new street onto Mimosa Street.”
