BUFFALO, N.Y. — Any consumer who liked the idea of going with a clean, green electric vehicle may have also sought some green tax benefits in the form of a federal rebate for that major purchase.
But as of Sept. 30, that incentive goes away. And while local car dealers aren't sure about the impact, some others feel it will affect sales.
When asked about the situation, Niagara Frontier Auto Dealers Association President Paul Stasiak said, "What it does is create some urgency, some excitement, and some nervousness. All three."
And maybe a last-minute opportunity to convince an on-the-fence electric vehicle customer to buy now instead of later as the Biden Administration's up to $7,500 federal tax credit for such purchases gets wiped away by the GOP's Budget Reconciliation measure passed
