BENBROOK, Texas — A Fort Worth ISD teacher was arrested on charges of injury to a child after surveillance video allegedly showed her grabbing two fourth-grade students by their necks and holding them against a hallway wall.

Gail Patterson, who taught at Westpark Elementary School in Benbrook, was charged with two counts of injury to a child following an incident on Aug. 20.

The mother of one of the students, identified only as Catie, said her 9-year-old daughter called her crying the day of the alleged assault, at pickup time.

"She's crying, inconsolable, saying a teacher choked her," Catie said.
