Drivers are facing heavy delays on the M20 this morning (September 25) following a vehicle fire. The incident took place on the London-bound carriageway between Junction 2, for Wrotham, and Junction 1, for Swanley.

All traffic was stopped along this stretch of the motorway from 6.40am for approximately one hour. Delays have been worsened by a separate reported crash in the area which triggered another brief hold of traffic at 8am.

National Highways currently reports delays of around 30 minutes on the approach as a result. Kent County Council's Highways department has warned drivers to "expect long delays and allow extra time for your journey."
