If you've ever wanted to see a film more than a hundred years in the making, you'll have a chance to do so to close out the month at the third annual Kenworthy Silent Film Festival.
Running from Sept. 25-28 at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow, the event sees the organization showcasing its first major restoration project. On Friday and Saturday, the festival will be holding two screenings of a restored version of the 1919 silent film Told in the Hills , a Western romance featuring over 100 Nez Perce actors and creative collaborators. This version of the film is the result of multiple creative voices utilizing the surviving 25 minutes of film footage, 200 archival photos shot on the set, and a live performance of a new score by acclaimed Diné (Navajo) composer Connor Chee.
