CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Chester County Council has announced that they have taken control of the Richburg Fire Protection District after removing the board.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Council reported that it had received information of possible fraudulent or criminal activity within the Fire District. The complaints were reviewed by the Chester County Sheriff's Office and referred to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) independent investigation.
County Administrator Brian Hester stresses that these allegations do not reflect on the firefighters and volunteers who serve the community.
