ALLEN PARK — Kelvin Sheppard was no slouch back in his playing days.
Over his eight-year career, the former linebacker made over 400 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits and more playing for the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and others.
Now the Lions defensive coordinator, Sheppard is coaching some of the top linebackers in the league, including a young star in Jack Campbell.
After Campbell played through a facial laceration during the Lions’ 38-30 win against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, he once again proved his toughness and drew praise from Sheppard and the organization.
But when asked if he would’ve enjoyed playing alongside Campbell in the NFL, Sheppard made it clear he prefers their current situation.
