A motorcyclist died in a crash after a semi trailer drove into a line of stopped vehicles in LaGrange County, Indiana State Police said today.

Police responded to the crash about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 20 near LaGrange County Road 350 West. Traffic was stopped because of construction work, a news release said.

Two vehicles with a motorcycle between them were stopped when a semi driven by 42-year-old Charles Allen of Wawaka drove into the back of the line. The semi struck a Chrysler Pacifica, which pushed into a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The collision pushed the Pacifica into oncoming traffic, and it was struck by a Chevrolet Colorado truck.

David Zinkie, the 67-year-old man driving the motorcycle, was seriously injured, the news release said. He was airlifted to Parkview Regiona
