HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Horry County authorities have charged a 39-year-old man with multiple counts of a sex crime involving a minor.

Gerard Aloysius Supple remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $45,000 bond following his arrest on Wednesday by the Horry County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He's charged with nine counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor.

The sheriff's office said investigators received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about alleged criminal activity on the social-media messaging app Kik. Supple was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant.
