EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Edinburg is alerting drivers of a traffic detour following an 18-wheeler accident near a major roadway.

City officials say an 18-wheeler struck power lines near Sugar Road and University Drive.

Westbound traffic is being diverted at 4th Avenue.

Drivers are asked to drive with caution.

AEP Texas and Magic Valley Electric Cooperative have not reported any power outages in the affected area.
