A Hoover man has pleaded guilty to trying to hire someone to kill his wife and six kids.

Mohammad A.H. Mohammad, 64, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala to seven counts of murder for hire, Northern District of Alabama U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona announced Thursday.

Mohammad offered a hitman, who was an undercover FBI employee, $20,000 to kill his wife, and $5,000 for each of his six children.

The FBI in Birmingham arrested Mohammad last year. He was the owner of American Plumbing Service LLC in Homewood.
