Members of CUP-W are back on the picket line after minister responsible for Canada Post, Joel Lightbound lifted government moratoriums on the addition of new community mailboxes and the closure of rural post offices.

Lightbound called on Canada Post to take immediate action to reduce costs, including trimming its management structure, and accepted all of the recommendations made by the Industrial Inquiry Commission to ensure the future viability of the 158 year old corporation.

Within minutes of Lightbound’s comments in Ottawa, CUP-W members returned to the picket line at locations across the province including the main sorting station on Kenmount Road.
