Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday submitted a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking the release of more aid from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) for flood-affected farmers of Maharashtra.

A letter, signed by Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, was submitted to Shah during his visit to Mumbai . The letter stated that around 50 lakh hectare of land has been damaged due to incessant rain in Maharashtra and the government till now has released Rs 2,215 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) as financial aid.
