Srinagar, Sept 25: Dr Harsh K. Gupta, former Member, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and former Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Thursday. He was accompanied by Prof Shakil A. Romshoo, Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST).

The meeting discussed the strategies to build a disaster-resilient Jammu and Kashmir, with emphasis on preparedness and risk reduction. Discussion was also held on the ways to reduce the impacts of natural hazards through systematic preparedness, resilient infrastructure, and an informed citizenry.
