WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday for sexually assaulting a child and for his involvement in a major vehicle theft ring.

Rolando Cuevillas, 42, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and engaging in organized criminal activity, both first-degree felonies punishable by up to life in prison.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, prosecutors recommended he serve 15 years in prison in exchange for his guilty plea while agreeing to dismiss a pending third-degree felony tampering with evidence charge against him.

Judge Susan Kelly of Waco’s 15th State District Court accepted the plea while admonishing Cuevillas to stay away from the child victim and his requirement to register as a sex offender.
