While farming is an occupation of productivity and pride, it’s also part of the agricultural industry, which is the most dangerous industry for workers across the country.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agricultural sector reported 448 fatalities in 2023. Ohio contributed 2% to this national statistic. While this number may seem low, when reported by rate per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers, it becomes evident that farming is indeed the most hazardous industry.
