On Tuesday, First Lady Melania Trump made an appearance at the United Nations General Assembly, where, after surviving an escalator malfunction, she announced her new coalition to “ensure every child can focus in the digital era.” In the audience were several spouses of world leaders, including Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska. Prior to Melania’s speech, one of her advisers said Zelenska had “reached out several times to set up a meeting,” presumably to discuss their shared passion for helping the children of Ukraine. That same adviser explained there would be just a casual greeting between the two. But CNN later reported that, actually, Melania didn’t speak to anyone after her remarks. So did Melania ghost Zelenska? For a while there, that’s definitely what it seemed like.
