Dear Old Fort community,

As we approach the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, I want to take a moment to reflect and share a few words from my heart.

On Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, our town was devastated by Hurricane Helene. Many of our neighbors lost everything, and I deeply regret those losses. As we ventured out in the days that followed, we were met with the heartbreaking sight of destruction and debris. We were in shock — but not for long. Almost immediately, our community came together. We helped our neighbors. We started rebuilding. And as mayor, I was truly in awe of the kindness, determination, and resilience I witnessed.

This past year has been incredibly challenging but we are not only surviving, we are thriving. Old Fort is growing. New bus
