TRAVELLERS have been warned they could be locked out of their accounts for days as a major airline prepares to overhaul its rewards scheme for good.

Hawaiian Airlines will shut down its HawaiianMiles programme on Thursday September 26.

They are merging it with Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan to create a brand-new loyalty scheme called Atmos Rewards.

That means a total account freeze is coming.

From 26 to 30 September, members won’t be able to log in, redeem miles, check balances or update details.

Normal service will return on October 1 – but only once the new programme goes live.

Passengers are being told to act fast to avoid being caught out.

The airline is urging members to take screenshots of their points balance and redeem any miles for flights before the deadline.
