Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has defended his now-viral “gun-shot” celebration during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash against India, stating that it had no political motive.

Farhan’s Defense at ICC Hearing

Following a complaint lodged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the ICC summoned Farhan and pacer Haris Rauf for an official hearing over their “provocative on-field gestures.”

Farhan clarified that his act was simply a moment of joy:

“Such celebrations are quite common during weddings and other functions. Even Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have done similar gestures before,”

the 29-year-old reportedly told the ICC panel.
