(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are establishing a new interim committee regarding health care funding. Officials announced yesterday that the committee will guide the state’s efforts in securing federal funding aimed at transforming rural health care. The primary task is to review the federal Rural Health Transformation Program and advise the Department of Health and Human Services on North Dakota’s application for a grant. Lawmakers are expected to begin work in early October before the grant application’s November 5th deadline. If approved, the state could receive funding as early as January 2026.
