A new, high-end convenience store and tap house may grace Northeast Burton Road by year’s end.

Developers broke ground on the project, V Market, 8417 N.E. Burton Road, earlier this year.

The store will serve fresh and gourmet food that shoppers can’t find anywhere else, said Paul Singh, a partner in the project.

Singh said his team hopes the convenience store and tap house, Beer Paradise, will open by Christmas.

The 0.67-acre property was a vacant grassy lot across the street from the old Burton Market, now the QuickPick Market, before Singh’s team bought it.

Singh and his team submitted plans earlier this year for a single-story, 5,000-square-foot retail building with 16 parking spaces, including two for electric vehicles.
