A “brisk east wind and low humidity” caused some wildfires to break out in Clark County on Sept. 21, 1950. The conflagrations indirectly damaged a farm home and barn between View and La Center. Cowlitz County saw two fires, which burned over 60 acres. Crews were fighting the fires in both counties.
