INTERLOCHEN — For Nancy Stagnitta, life had taken on a rhythm.

Earlier in 2025, she was in her 21st year teaching flute at Interlochen Arts Academy. During her summers off, she’d been spending two weeks in Tuscany performing in The Clazz International Music Festival, basically a celebration of jazz meets classical music. While Stagnitta started her career as a classical flutist, she long ago began delving into jazz. More recently, she found herself gravitating to funk and has been performing multiple shows with a variety of collaborators including Funky Uncle at The Alluvion in Traverse City.
