GLOCESTER, R.I. (WLNE) — It wasn’t your typical traffic stop by the Glocester Police Department Friday morning.
Glocester police officers encountered a donkey they say was “casually strolling” in the middle of Chopmist Hill Road around 5 a.m. Friday.
Police urged the donkey’s owner to contact them to arrange a pickup of the loose critter:
“If you’re missing your donkey, please give us a call at the PD so we can get him back home before he causes a traffic jam,” read a social media post from Glocester PD.
The owner of the donkey was located, according to the post, and “Harvey” received “VIP treatment” and a “full police escort straight back home.”
