The first tee shot of the 2025 Ryder Cup was still in the air when the entire golf-watching community seemed to let out a collective groan regarding the television production.
USA Network had several sound mixing errors to begin Friday's coverage at Bethpage Black, resulting in multiple instances in which television viewers either couldn't hear the crowd, couldn't hear the club hitting the ball, or both.
On some of them, the sound of the club making contact came when the ball had already reached its apex in the air.
But that didn't take the brunt of the criticism. The amount of commercials aired during Friday's opening session seemed to have really ground the gears of both fans and fellow professional players tuning in to watch the Ryder Cup.
And, perhaps most simply put...
To add to all of that, YouTube TV customers have been forced to watch a crawling message at the top of their screens every time the broadcast returns from commercial. The message reads "Attention YouTube TV Customers: YouTube TV is at it again and may drop this channel and your favorite sports and shows. Go to GetyourChannels.com to learn more."
According to CNBC, Comcast NBCUniversal and YouTube TV have until Tuesday, Sept. 30, to reach a new distribution agreement or YouTube TV customers could lose access to NBC properties.
