In a dramatic turn of events, climate activist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk was arrested on Friday, just two days after violent clashes erupted in Leh during protests demanding Sixth Schedule inclusion and full statehood for Ladakh.

Wangchuk was scheduled to address the media at 2:30 pm but was detained before the briefing. The arrest was carried out by a Ladakh Police team led by DGP SD Singh Jamwal.
