Drivers in south Winnipeg should prepare for a weekend closure on St. Anne’s Road as city crews complete repaving work.

Northbound St. Anne’s will be shut down between Fermor Avenue and St. Mary’s Road from 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, until 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.

The city stated that the closure is necessary to enable crews to complete paving along the stretch.

Traffic leaving Fermor will still be able to turn west or yield east onto the avenue before the closure begins. One lane will remain open from the Fermor intersection into the Superstore parking lot, and access will also be maintained from Kingswood Avenue.

Sidewalks in the area will stay open. Pedestrian crossings will be available at Kingswood Avenue, Varennes Avenue, Imperial Avenue, and St. Mary’s Avenue.
