AURORA, Ill. — A kitten is looking for a new home this week after officers in the western suburbs pulled him to safety after he found himself stuck between an ice machine and a hard place.

According to police, the rescue unfolded outside of an Amstar gas station located near Hill Avenue and Summit Avenue, in Aurora.

While it is unclear exactly when the rescue took place, Aurora police shared details about it in a social media post shared Friday morning.

Officers say the little tabby kitten's spelunking skills were not particularly well polished as the cat, which appears to be about 4 months old, became wedged behind the gas station's ice machine.

Officers were called to the scene following a call for assistance in the area, but never expected to spend the evening moving more than 1,000
