PHOENIX - An active couple of days are ahead!

An area of low pressure has moved over the western edge of the state, where it will swirl for the next couple of days. As it wobbles around western Arizona, it will churn up winds, energy and moisture for storms throughout the state.

Today:

From Friday morning to the afternoon, the state will see strong to severe storms fire off, especially over eastern Arizona , but possible across most of the state.

In the Valley, by midday through the afternoon and early evening, some strong storms are expected. The top threat from storms today will be flooding, lightning, hail and strong to damaging winds. There is a flood watch for the Valley, portions of Gila County, and Pinal County through Friday.
