Palestine has applied to join BRICS, at a time when a more and more countries have recognised it as a state in recent weeks. Palestinian ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal confirmed the move on Friday, saying the application was still awaiting a reply. "We have submitted an application, but, as you know, Palestine has certain conditions. I believe Palestine will participate in the association as a guest until the conditions allow it to become a full member. We haven't received a response yet," Nofal told Russian media. BRICS, which started with Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has expanded rapidly in recent years.
