POLK COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon Humane Society is helping out with the rescue of 41 neglected dogs that were living in unsanitary conditions in Polk County.
The investigation began on Sept. 11 when the Polk County Sheriff’s Office animal control received a report of a stray puppy in poor health in the 12900 block of McCaleb Road, just west of Monmouth.
The sheriff’s office says an animal control officer contacted the suspected owner, Jeanette Case, and noticed “unsuitable living conditions” for multiple dogs that were in Case’s care.
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, deputies, along with members of the Oregon Humane Society, went to Case’s home and seized 41 dogs that are described as large guardian mix-breed dogs.
