One person was killed and eight injured after a deadly Russian strike on southern Ukrainian city of Kherson in the early hours of Friday.

Local authorities reported that at least seven Su-34 Russian jets attacked the city.

Regional administration head Oleksandr Prokudin said Russia dropped approximately 15 glide bombs on the city within one hour.

An administrative building and nine households were damaged in the attack.

Overall, Russian artillery, close-range drones, and glide bombs attacked 28 settlements in Kherson region over the past 24 hours, Prokudin said.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted or jammed 128 out of 154 Russian strike and decoy drones launched at the country overnight, according to the Air Force.
