The perceived next domino in Michigan high school sports' conference realignment will remain upright.

Michigan's Southeastern Conference and the Kensington Lakes Activities Association had discussions of a potential merger between the conferences, but SEC school administrators voted against the merger on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

In emails to the Free Press, Northville Athletic Director Brian Samulski and SEC Executive Director/Commissioner Wayne Welton confirmed the SEC Board of Directors voted against the merger, opting to remain on its own.
