A vehicle was found submerged Thursday in Lake Osborne, just behind the Naperville police and fire department headquarters, officials said.
The fire department was conducting a training exercise just north of the intersection of Oswego Road and Oakhurst Drive when the discovery was made, according to Naperville police Cmdr. Rick Krakow.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, crews were still working to pull the vehicle from the water, Krakow said.
“Fire department is in the water. They’re prepping the vehicle for recovery,” he said.
It is unknown how it ended up in the lake or how long it has been there. More information will be released as the investigation continues, officials said.
